The world’s longest luxury river cruise ‘Ganga Vilas’ coming

India is prepared to host the first-ever largest luxury river cruise in the world. The announcement states that the journey would start in January 2023. At the same period, it will travel about 4000 kilometers. Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, announced the arrival of this cruise ship.

It will travel from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam on this voyage, also known as the Ganga Vilas Cruise. It will pass through Kolkata and Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, to get there.

Some of the RIVER Cruise’s highlights
According to reports, the ship would depart from national parks and sanctuaries to give the guests a memorable experience. This comprises the well-known Sundarbans Delta and Kaziranga National Park.

An additional fantastic feature of this trip will be the chance to see the famous Ganga Aarti. Along with seeing Mayong, guests will have the opportunity to view some of the world’s most incredible natural beauties, such as the largest mangrove forest.

In India, the Assamese city of Mayong is also referred to as a land of witchcraft and sorcery. The location is in the lovely Morigaon district along the banks of the Brahmaputra. Even today, this community is referred to as India’s birthplace of “black magic.”

Information about the River Cruise Tour
Other information on the cruise trip was disclosed by the Minister. The journey will start in Varanasi on January 10. On the other hand, the ship will get to Bogibeel on March 1 in the Assamese Dibrugarh district.

The eighth day will see it arrive at Patna. Before returning to India, it would also travel over 1100 kilometers across Bangladesh, passing through Buxar, Ramnagar, and Ghazipur. The Protocol Route between India and Bangladesh includes this Project. Additionally, this has created a commerce route that runs along the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers, connecting the two nations.

Ship Ganga Vilas
The Ganga Vilas Cruise, which would last more than 50 days and visit 27 river systems, will be the longest river cruise. It’s interesting that it will encompass more than 50 tourism destinations, including Bangladeshi and Indian World Heritage Sites.

It will be the world’s longest river voyage made by a single river ship overall. Additionally, it will put Bangladesh and India on the global river cruise map.

Recently, the Indian Vessel Act was amended, requiring cruise ships to get national licenses. They can now cross state lines without getting a permit, so to speak.

The ship is 62.5 m long, 12.8 m wide, and 1.35 m high (draft). According to sources, it is the first river cruise ship made in India.

An endeavor using the PPP model
The Inland Waterways Authority of India will implement the Ganga Vilas cruise as a PPP project (IWAI). Additionally, it offers JM Baxi and Antara Luxury River Cruises.

The river cruise ship’s operations will be managed by Antara Luxury River Cruises. It will also be in charge of 18 suites and all related facilities.

The trip has been particularly designed with a distinctive style and a modern outlook. Other information on ticket costs and specific services is currently unavailable. But the decision will be made by the operators. While not getting involved is the federal government.
